Exercise and rehabilitation programs for cancer care

Moving Through Cancer is an initiative aimed at ensuring that all people living with and beyond cancer are assessed and engaged in appropriate exercise and rehabilitation programmes as a standard part of care. It began as a task force led by ACSM president Dr. Kathryn Schmitz and has evolved into an international effort focused on building a workforce, creating programming, and supporting research. The initiative emphasizes the patient’s role and aims to raise awareness about the benefits of physical activity for cancer patients. It also provides a searchable directory for healthcare providers, professionals, and patients to find suitable programs.
