OECI Excellent Practice – Recognising patient expertise, and evaluating their involvement in care processes

This OECI Excellent Practice focuses on recognising the expertise of patients and evaluating their involvement in care processes. At Institute Paoli Calmettes (IPC), active patient participation and awareness of their rights have prompted changes in the roles and behaviours of healthcare professionals.

The initiative aims to position patients as active contributors to their own care and safety, acknowledge their expertise, and evaluate the involvement process. Additionally, it promotes the integration of patients as members of the healthcare team, fostering collaborative action and partnership.
